Ethical Clearance

Journal of Science Education Research and Innovation (JOSERI) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in research publication. Authors submitting manuscripts that involve research on human subjects, animals, or sensitive data are required to provide evidence of ethical clearance from an appropriate ethics review board or institutional review committee.

Requirements for Ethical Clearance

  1. Human Subjects: For research involving human participants, authors must ensure that the study complies with ethical standards, including informed consent and protection of participant confidentiality. A statement confirming that the study has received ethical approval from an institutional review board (IRB) or equivalent must be included in the manuscript.

  2. Animal Research: For studies involving animal subjects, authors must adhere to ethical guidelines regarding the treatment of animals in research. A statement of ethical approval from an appropriate committee must be provided, detailing compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

  3. Sensitive Data: If the research involves the collection of sensitive or confidential data, authors must explain how they will ensure data privacy and security. This includes obtaining informed consent and adhering to data protection regulations.

  4. Disclosure of Ethical Clearance: Authors must include a section in their manuscript that outlines the ethical clearance obtained for the study, including the name of the approving body and the approval number (if applicable). This section should clearly communicate the steps taken to uphold ethical standards throughout the research process.

Failure to provide adequate ethical clearance will result in the manuscript being returned to the authors for revision or may lead to rejection. Journal of Science Education Research and Innovation (JOSERI) reserves the right to request additional information regarding ethical compliance at any stage of the review process.
