Screening for Plagiarism

Manuscripts submitted to Multigen: Multidisciplinary Indigenous Knowledge are thoroughly examined using Turnitin software, with a maximum allowed similarity rate of 20%.

Plagiarism includes the following:

  1. Direct Plagiarism:

    • Copying another author's text exactly without quotation marks or proper citation.
  2. Source Plagiarism:

    • Using someone else’s ideas or concepts without giving proper credit or citation.
  3. Authorship Plagiarism:

    • Presenting another author's work as one's own without proper attribution.
  4. Self-Plagiarism:

    • Authors should avoid submitting identical articles to multiple journals without substantial revisions. When referencing previous work, significant changes must be made, and new articles should offer fresh insights, with minimal overlap from earlier publications.

Upholding these standards is essential for preserving the integrity and originality of research published in our journal.
