Screening for Plagiarism

All manuscripts submitted to VIRAL: Veritas International Research in Applied Linguistics undergo plagiarism screening as part of the editorial and peer review process to ensure academic integrity and originality. The journal uses appropriate plagiarism detection software to examine similarities, overlapping content, and potential ethical violations before manuscripts proceed to peer review and before final publication.

Authors are expected to submit original work that has not been published elsewhere and is free from plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, and unethical citation practices. Proper acknowledgment and citation of all sources must be provided in accordance with APA 7th Edition referencing standards.

Manuscripts found to contain substantial plagiarism or unethical similarity will be rejected immediately. In cases where minor similarity is identified, authors may be requested to revise and correct the manuscript before further consideration. If plagiarism or research misconduct is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to issue corrections, retractions, or other appropriate editorial actions.

By submitting manuscripts to VIRAL, authors agree that their work may be screened for plagiarism at any stage of the publication process.
