Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to VIRAL: Veritas International Research in Applied Linguistics undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of the published articles. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review stage.
Each submitted manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial team to assess its suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, writing quality, originality, and compliance with the author guidelines. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are then assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the field.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on several criteria, including originality, methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, clarity of presentation, relevance to applied linguistics, and significance of findings for research and practice. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor will make one of the following decisions: accept submission, accept with minor revisions, revise and resubmit, or reject submission.
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version within the specified timeframe. The editorial team reserves the right to make minor editorial changes to improve clarity, consistency, and formatting without altering the substance of the work.
The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ evaluations and the journal’s editorial standards.
