Reference Manager Usage

JENDELA (Jurnal Pengetahuan dan Kolaborasi Ilmiah) encourages authors to use reference management software to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and efficiency of citation and reference formatting.

Recommended Reference Management Software

Authors are encouraged to prepare their manuscripts using one of the following reference management tools:

  • Mendeley
  • Zotero
  • Other compatible reference management software

The use of reference management software helps minimize citation errors and ensures consistency throughout the manuscript.

Citation Style

JENDELA requires all manuscripts to follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition citation and referencing style.

Authors should ensure that:

  • Every in-text citation appears in the reference list.
  • Every reference listed has been cited within the manuscript.
  • References are complete, accurate, and consistently formatted according to APA 7th Edition.
  • Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are included whenever available.

Reference Quality

Authors are encouraged to:

  • Cite recent, relevant, and high-quality scholarly literature.
  • Prioritize references from peer-reviewed journals.
  • Cite primary sources whenever possible.
  • Include references that are directly relevant to the objectives, methods, and discussion of the manuscript.
  • Avoid excessive self-citation or unnecessary citations.

Accuracy of References

Authors are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all bibliographic information, including:

  • Author names
  • Article titles
  • Journal titles
  • Volume and issue numbers
  • Page numbers
  • Publication year
  • DOI or URL, where applicable

Incorrect or incomplete references may delay the review and publication process.

Editorial Policy

The Editorial Board may request authors to revise citations and references that do not comply with the journal's formatting requirements or contain inaccurate bibliographic information.

The use of reference management software is strongly recommended, although it is not mandatory. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all citations and references included in their manuscripts.
