Society: Journal of Community and Service takes allegations of research misconduct seriously and is committed to upholding the integrity of the scholarly record. The handling of allegations of research misconduct aligns with the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), which can be accessed at COPE Misconduct Guidelines.
In the event that a misconduct allegation arises, the following procedures will be followed:
- Initial Assessment: The editorial team will conduct an initial assessment of the allegation to determine its validity and severity.
- Investigation: If the allegation is deemed credible, a formal investigation will be initiated. This may involve consulting external experts or seeking additional information from the authors and relevant parties.
- Confidentiality: Throughout the investigation process, confidentiality will be maintained to protect the parties involved.
If research misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions will be taken, which may include correction, retraction, or further actions as necessary.
The retraction process adheres to the Retraction Guidelines outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), which are available at COPE Retraction Guidelines. Retractions will be issued for manuscripts that fail to meet ethical standards, including but not limited to plagiarism, fabrication, or unethical research practices.
