Screening for Plagiarism

Jurnal Lingkungan is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. To ensure the originality and credibility of all published content, we conduct thorough plagiarism screening on all submitted manuscripts.

Plagiarism Detection Process

  1. Initial Screening:

    • All submitted manuscripts will undergo an initial plagiarism check using reputable plagiarism detection tools, such as Turnitin or iThenticate, to identify any potential overlap with existing literature.
  2. Threshold for Plagiarism:

    • Manuscripts with more than 20% similarity to existing published work (excluding properly cited quotations and references) will be flagged for further review.
  3. Review Process:

    • If plagiarism is detected, the manuscript will be reviewed by the editorial team. The author(s) will be notified and given the opportunity to explain or correct the issue.
    • In cases of substantial plagiarism, the manuscript may be rejected, and the author(s) may be banned from submitting future articles to the journal.
  4. Ethical Standards:

    • We encourage authors to properly cite all sources, use quotation marks for direct quotes, and give credit to original ideas or data that are not their own.
    • Self-plagiarism (reusing substantial portions of an author's own previously published work without proper citation) will also be treated as a form of misconduct.

Consequences of Plagiarism

  • If plagiarism is confirmed, the manuscript will be rejected, and appropriate corrective actions will be taken, including retraction or public correction if already published.
  • Authors found guilty of plagiarism may face a ban from submitting to Gesang: Jurnal Lingkungan for a specified period.
