Reviewer Guidelines

Thank you for agreeing to review for LegalSpectrum. Your expertise is essential to maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal. The following guidelines are intended to help you conduct your review in a thorough, fair, and constructive manner.

1. Confidentiality

All manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential. Do not share, discuss, or use the content for any purpose outside the review process. If you need to consult with a colleague, please contact the editorial team first.

2. Objectivity and Impartiality

Please provide an objective and unbiased evaluation of the manuscript. Avoid personal criticism of the authors. If you recognize a conflict of interest or believe you cannot review the paper fairly, notify the editors immediately.

3. Review Scope and Criteria

Evaluate the manuscript based on the following key aspects:

  • Relevance: Is the topic suitable for LegalSpectrum? Does it align with the journal’s interdisciplinary focus?

  • Originality: Does the manuscript provide new insights or perspectives on legal science?

  • Academic Rigor: Are the arguments logically structured and supported by appropriate evidence?

  • Methodology (for empirical papers): Are the methods sound and well-described?

  • Clarity: Is the paper well-written, organized, and easy to follow?

  • References: Are sources relevant, up-to-date, and properly cited?

4. Recommendations

Please provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)

  • Reject

Include clear and specific reasons for your recommendation.

5. Constructive Feedback

Your comments should help authors improve their work. Highlight both strengths and weaknesses. If revisions are needed, be precise about what should be changed and why.

Structure your comments as follows:

  • General Comments: Summary of your overall impression.

  • Major Issues: Significant concerns or gaps that must be addressed.

  • Minor Issues: Stylistic, grammatical, or formatting suggestions.

6. Timeliness

Please complete your review within 14 days of receiving the manuscript. If you need more time, contact the editorial team as soon as possible.

7. Anonymity

LegalSpectrum uses a double-blind peer review process. Do not include identifying information in your comments to authors. Your identity will not be disclosed to the authors.

8. Ethical Concerns

If you suspect plagiarism, data fabrication, or other ethical issues, please report them directly and confidentially to the editors.
