Ethical Clearance

Juwarisa: Jurnal Warisan dan Kebudayaan requires that all research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive cultural heritage data be conducted in accordance with relevant ethical guidelines and regulations. Authors must provide evidence of ethical approval from an appropriate institutional review board (IRB) or ethics committee, where applicable.

  1. Human and Animal Research
For studies involving human participants, authors must confirm that all procedures were conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and that informed consent was obtained from all participants. For research involving animals, authors must confirm that the study adhered to internationally recognized standards, such as the guidelines provided by the International Association of Veterinary Editors (IAVE) or equivalent.

  2. Cultural Heritage and Sensitive Data
For research involving sensitive cultural heritage or community data, authors must demonstrate that they have obtained necessary permissions from the relevant authorities, local communities, or custodians of the heritage. The research must respect the cultural values and norms of the community involved.

  3. Documentation
Authors are required to submit a statement of ethical approval during the submission process, including the name of the ethics committee or IRB, the approval reference number, and a summary of the ethical considerations for the research.

  4. Exemptions
Research that does not require ethical approval (e.g., review articles, secondary data analysis) must include a statement clarifying the nature of the research and why ethical clearance was not required.

  5. Non-compliance
Any manuscript that does not comply with the ethical standards or fails to provide appropriate ethical clearance documentation will not be considered for publication until the issue is resolved.
